Contact Form

Simple form-to-mail script. Displays an HTML page that allows the site visitor to email a message to the site owner. The site owner's email address is stored in the script and so is not exposed on the web to spammers.

Install Instructions

The following is taken from readme.txt, included in the distribution. Please see readme.txt for more information.

  1. Unzip contact.zip. The files will be in their own directory.
  2. Edit contact.php and change the addresses for $webmaster_email and $recipient (lines 30 and 32). Note $webmaster_email is displayed when a problem occurs and will allow the site visitor to notify you of a problem with the script.
  3. (optional) Edit $subject and $html_title (lines 36 and 39).
  4. (optional) Customize the HTML to be displayed by editing the files:
    • start_html.php
    • form_html.php
    • end_html.php
    • thank_you.php
    • error_html.php

  5. (optional) Customize the email message that will be sent by editing:
    • email_txt.php
    See the comments in the file for more information.
    No HTML is allowed in the email message.
  6. FTP all files to your web server.
  7. View contact.php in your web browser.

This application works by including fragments of HTML as needed and building a complete page.
